Another Pathway

I finished another Black and White sketch yesterday.

I started this pathway before I made the one from last month.
It was going to be the path in the woods, but it wasn't turning out like I envisioned, so I made the other one.
Not wanting to toss this path out I turned it into what you see now.

When I was making this part of the drawing my hubby asked if I was making a dragon.

I wasn't, but I decided to put one in the picture.  Do you see it? My Hubby and son didn't see it right away. I suppose he gets lost in all the swirls.  That is the main reason I decided to add color to these types of drawings.  Sometimes my objects aren't as visible as I want them to be till I add color.

I will add color to this one as soon as figure out what color I want my dragon to be.

Beach in Color

I sat down today and added color to my beach drawing.
This is what it looked like in Black and White back in October.

I also have my Pathway drawing complete.
I finished it in December and it has been sitting in my sketchbook.
Not sure if I will add color to this one.  I am liking it in black and white for now.
I'll see how I feel about it again in a couple weeks.

Drawings

I haven't had a chance to add color to my beach scene, but I want to go ahead and post it.
It has been done for a couple weeks now.

I have also been working on another sketch.  This one is almost finished.

Marsh Drawing

I finished adding color to my Marsh drawing this evening.
Our excursion at the marsh this summer was the inspiration for this drawing.  The water at the marsh isn't really this blue, but I wanted it that way so I colored it that way.

This is one of the pictures I used as a base for my drawing.
It is the marsh in Murrells Inlet, SC and not too far beyond those trees is the ocean.

This is what the drawing looked like as I started to add color.

And below is the drawing in progress.
I was trying to scan it during different stages to see my progress.

This next picture is the drawing I started today.  I was fiddling around not knowing what scene to draw when this one took shape so there are some rough lines and mistakes in this one.  Hopefully I can smooth things out and turn the mistakes into something else.  If not I will still keep it on hand for reference.  I like some of the new lines I put together in this one.

Newest Drawing

I finished the coloring on this drawing today.

This next one is a work in progress.  My recent trip to the marsh inspired this one.

I need to find myself a nice portfolio that is small enough to hold all my drawings.
They are all 8in x 6in and right now they are stuck in the back of my notebook.
I want to be able to flip through them all like an album.

Two newest doodle landscapes

The black and white part of the top drawing had been finished for a couple weeks.
I finished the black and white part of the bottom drawing last Sunday.
I added color to both of them this afternoon.
I usually use a box of 8 Crayola colored pencils for these, but today, for the drawing on the bottom, I decided I wanted a few more colors to choose from for the grasses by the stream.  So I broke out my old set of Prismacolor pencils.  Wow, I forgot how nice those colored pencils are.  It has been many many years since I have used them.  I am glad they haven't crumbled to dust while waiting for me to return to them.

This inspiration for this stream drawing came from Angela over at The Adventures of Angelcat.  In February she was posting beautiful photos of some of her walks around the country side.  I was so impressed with her photos that I used one as my main inspiration for this drawing.

Newest Drawing

I finished my beach scene drawing two Sundays ago, and finished adding the color the other night.
Time to start a fresh new page of doodles, just not sure what scene to do next.
I guess I shall see where my pen takes me.

Doodling on a Monday.

I love Monday's.  They start off a fresh new week and the house is calm and quiet again after a busy and noisy weekend.  Even though Mondays are usually Laundry Day they are also play days for me. :)  In between loads I usually work on my sewing projects, but instead of sewing today, I finished up this drawing.  I usually doodle on Sunday's but this picture was almost finished and I was excited about it so I decided to go ahead and finish it.  I added a few more rocks and grass and then colored it all in.

Sunday Doodling

I spend a lot of time on Sundays just doodling.  Today I finished up this picture that I have been working on the past three Sundays.  Usually I just doodle shapes and lines and cover a whole page, but my husband said he wanted me to turn those lines into something he could recognize, so I made this picture of a waterfall.  Then I added color.  Usually I just work in black and white but for this one I felt the need to add color.

These are what my drawings usually look like.
Random doodles all merged into each other.

This one has my niece's name mixed into it.

Quilting Feathers.... Sort of

I have read online that one way to get better at doing freehand machine quilted feathers is to practice drawing them on paper. Well, I did just that, but I think I got a little carried away.  Can you still see the feathers I started out with in this doodle?

It started out as an all black and white image, but my son told me to add some red to it, so I did.  I don't usually doodle in color, but here is the results.
